PYMC presents the 2nd Annual Mashed Media Awards to celebrate youth voice, creativity and vision.

The evening recognizes the best youth media in Philadelphia, from video to photography, music to spoken word and features media screenings and live performances.

Awards will be presented to the best in youth –produced narrative, documentary, musical performance and other categories and shown on the BIG screen. There will also be two themed categories: in education, for outstanding work covering city school reform issues, and the “visionary” award for “creativity that pushes the boundaries of expression, technique and authenticity.”

This free event is organized in part by the Mashed Crew, the PYMC youth council, ages sixteen to twenty-two who have been leaders in Philly youth-led media.

The audience for this event will include families, educators, artists, youth media mentors, and young people age 12 – 23.
